The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) recently announced that Kentucky State University (KSU) softball student-athlete, Teya Everett, has been selected a the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) representative for the Division II National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN - August 8, 2009) The NCAA has announced the names of 132 NCAA female student athletes, including eight from HBCUs, who have received Woman of the Year recognition from their conferences and independent institutions.

The selections came from all three divisions and multiple sports. Farrah Sells (Saint Paul's - softball) and Tiffany Toney (Bowie State - softball, volleyball, indoor & outdoor track) represented the CIAA.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., May 20, 2009 - Hampton University won its eighth consecutive Mary McLeod Bethune Women’s All Sports Award and Norfolk State captured its fifth consecutive and sixth overall Talmadge Layman Hill Men’s Award, the league announced Wednesday. Hampton totaled 77 points of the possible 96 points, while NSU tallied 63.5 out of 84.
