Must See: The North Carolina A&T women's basketball team. The Aggies return to action after Finals Week put a close to the 2011 Fall semester. They will be taking on a tough Division II team in Johnson C. Smith before hitting the road for the next five games this month. Before stopping to finish exams, the Aggies had a five-game winning streak in place. It's a winning streak that included wins over ACC opponent Clemson on Nov. 21, and taking down archrival N.C. Central in Durham. It's their longest winning streak since the Aggies had 11 consecutive wins from Jan. 9-Feb. 13, 2010 en route to the team's third consecutive MEAC regular season championship title and a WNIT appearance.
Aggies and the Nation: North Carolina A&T ranks 29th in the nation among Division I schools in scoring offense (77.1 ppg) and ninth in steals per game (15.4). Junior guard JaQuayla Berry ranks among the top 200 scorers in the nation, with 14.7 ppg. Redshirt sophomore Amber Calvin is fifth in the nation in 3-point field-goal percentage (.552), and ranks 45th in the nation for free throw percentage (.885). Sophomore Mikala Scott is 25th in the country for steals, with a 3.6 steals average.

The Opponent: The Aggies are meeting Johnson C. Smith for the first time in school history on Dec. 12. Despite being a Division II program, the Golden Bulls could present a challenge to the Aggies. The Golden Bulls are 6-2 to start the season, and 1-0 in conference games. They were upset 62-57 in their last game against Queens College on Dec. 5. But the Golden Bulls were predicted to finish second in the CIAA Southern Division after a record-setting 2010-11 season in which the Golden Bulls advanced to the CIAA and NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Tournament finals with a program-best 26 wins. The school returns three starters, and has six seniors on the squad. Senior LaQwesha Gable, who earned All-CIAA honors last year, was named to the preseason All-CIAA list this year. Senior guard Terran Quattlebaum was also named to the preseason All-CIAA list. Senior guard Shavonda Price leads the team with 16.0 ppg, while Gable is second with 13.5 ppg. Gable is first with 11.8 rpg, while Terrica Jones and Quattlebaum average 2.1 apg. The Golden Bulls head coach Vanessa Taylor was recognized by the CIAA as the Coach of the Week on Dec. 3 and Nov. 20 this season.
