Virginia Union University's women's softball team wrapped up the
2011 season with a double-header against Elizabeth City State
University at Parker Field in Richmond, Va., on April 19.
The Lady Vikings swept the Lady Panthers, however, 5-4 and 14-3.
In the first game, Shermanda Fambro knocked in two runs while Valeria Cantu gave up just one earned run in seven innings of work.
In the nightcap, Rachel Washington collected two hits while Quinisha Brown knocked in a run.
The double-header was originally scheduled to be against Virginia State University, but the two schools decided to cancel the games so Elizabeth City State could get two more games.
The losses gave VUU a final 2011 record of 9-23.
