Virginia State University's
Valeria Cantu was named to the All-CIAA Softball Second
Team while freshmen
Shermanda Fambro and Reneisha Chiles were named to the
CIAA All-Rookie Team, the CIAA announced on April 19. Cantu, a
senior pitcher from San Antonio, Tx., was 5-10 this season for the
Lady Panthers with an earned run average of 10.82.
Fambro, a freshman third baseman from Atlanta, Ga., batted .294 in 32 games. Chiles, a freshman outfielder/pitcher from Amherst County, Va., was 4-10 on the mound for the Lady Panthers this season and batted .412. Chiles was second on the team with 30 runs batted in and 40 hits.
