UMES closes non-conference schedule with second Big 12 opponent

NORMAN, Okla. - For the third straight year, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's
basketball team travels to Norman, Okla. to take on the Oklahoma University Sooners. Game
time is set for 8 p.m. ET Monday at the Lloyd Noble Center.

With this game, UMES (3-9) closes the non-conference portion of their schedule with a second
straight game against a Big 12 opponent. Last Wednesday, the Hawks fell to Colorado, 92-65, in
Boulder. Redshirt junior Hillary Haley (Oxon Hill, Md.) scored a team-high 18 points on 7-of-12
shooting from the floor. Senior Kevin White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added in 12 points while junior
Dishawn Bradshaw (Baltimore, Md.) had 11 of his own. The game marks the third consecutive
double-figure scoring effort by both Bradshaw and Haley.

UMES is led in scoring by Haley, with an average of 14.3 points per contest. Bradshaw is second
on the team with 12.9 per. Junior Tyler Hines (Sicklerville, N.J.) marks an average of 6.5
rebounds per game while Bob Cousy Award candidate Kevin White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) dishes out
an average of 4.5 assists for the Hawks.

The Sooners (7-6) eked out a 76-73 win over Central Arkansas at home on Thursday. Freshman
Cameron Clark scored a game-high 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Oklahoma limped through a
five-game losing streak between Nov. 22 and Dec. 5 (Kentucky, Virginia, Chaminade, Arkansas
and Arizona). They rank last in the Big 12 in scoring with an average of 68.5 points per contest.

OU has three players averaging double figures this season and are led by sophomore Andrew
Fitzgerald, a Baltimore, Md. native, with 13.8 points per contest. The team's lone senior, Cade
Davis, averages 13.3 points per while sophomore Steven Pledger puts up 11.3 points per.

The Sooners hold a 2-0 series lead over UMES and most recently defeated them, 88-54, on Jan. 4, 2010 at the Lloyd Noble Center. During the 2008-09 season, the Hawks fell, 100-64, to OU in
Norman.
