Newcomer of the Week - Notes of Interest:

Tony Smith continued to be a lynchpin in the Shaw attack this week. His 21 points against Columbus State helped the Bears squeak by with the 76-74 win.

Coach of the Week

Bobby Collins, Winston-Salem State University
Collins led the Winston-Salem State Rams to their sixth straight win and led the team to the 36th Annual Winter Park Rotary Tangerine Tournament championship. Collins led the Rams to back-to-back wins, since being idle for 25 days since their last game. Collins' guidance was a key part of both victories as the Rams had to battle back from a pair of late deficits to rally for both wins; including a thrilling overtime win over the Flagler Saints, and overcoming a 14-point deficit to defeat the Rollins Tars at home for the tournament championship.
