| Gold Nuggets lose twice more at Faulkner Invitational Ed Cassiere October 9, 2010 MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Xavier University of Louisiana women's volleyball team lost 25-11, 25-16, 25-11 to Martin Methodist and 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-18 to Southern Wesleyan on Saturday at the Faulkner Invitational. The Gold Nuggets (4-18) finished 0-4 in the two-day event. "We picked it up a little bit (against Southern Wesleyan)," Xavier Coach Al'lisa Hale said. "We played much better defensively and passed the ball well. We brought in Kia Kaufman to set with Patrice Hightower, and Kia did a nice job. We moved Iva Bobkova from setter to her natural position on the outside, and she was hitting really well. I feel good going into our next match." Xavier will travel to city and Gulf Coast Athletic Conference rival SUNO for a 7 p.m. match Tuesday. The Gold Nuggets' next home match will start at 7 p.m. Friday against Judson. |
