MILES NAMED TO NEW JERSEY ALL-DECADE TEAM MAGGIE HAYON 06/14/10 Sprinter recognized for high school accolades HACKENSACK, N.J. - Sophomore Damian Miles (Teaneck, N.J.) was recently named to the NorthJersey.com All-Decade Indoor track and field team. Miles, who currently runs short distance and relays for the Hawks, was recognized for his efforts in the 300 meter dash during his time at Teaneck High School. Miles was the 2008 Bergen County and Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League (NNJIL) champion in the 300 with the second fastest race time (35.50) in Bergen County history. For the 2010 UMES indoor season, Miles ran season-bests of 7.04 in the 60 meter dash and 21.68 in the 200 meter dash. He was also a member of the 4x400 relay that ran a 3:27.51 at the MEAC Championships. This past outdoor season, the sprinter ran season-bests of 10.65 in the 100 meter dash, 21.20 in the 200 meter dash and 49.08 in the 400 meter dash. He is also a member of the 4x100 relay that ran a 39.76 at the NCAA Eastern Regional to break the school record. Miles and his relay teammates competed at last week's NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. |
