Shaw’s McElveen Named Lindy’s Preseason All-American Sherri Fillingham 06/02/10 (Raleigh, NC) – Shaw offensive lineman Markus McElveen has been named to Lindy’s Preseason Division II All-America second team. McElveen was named to the All-CIAA second team for his performance in the 2009 season. McElveen (6-3, 311, Norwalk, CT) anchored a staunch Shaw offensive line that allowed the Bears to lead the CIAA in scoring offense (42.1 points per game) and total offense (387.4 yards a game). The therapeutic recreation major will be a senior this season. Last season, the Bears finished with an 8-2 mark, 5-2 in the CIAA. Shaw opens its season on September 4 against Virginia Union.
