WSSU held to just one hit in tough loss

GREENSBORO, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (3-16) couldn’t find an answer for some tough defense in a 2-0 shutout loss at the rival North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies (15-16). The Lady Rams struggled to find offense against the Lady Aggies as WSSU managed just one hit in the tough defensive showdown between the two teams.

The game featured some stellar defense by both teams as the Lady Rams and Lady Aggies combined for five total hits in the game. A sixth-inning two-run Lady Aggie home run was the sole score of the game for either team. WSSU freshman infielder Nikki Lynch got the only Lady Ram hit of the game.

WSSU freshman pitcher Brittany Lane (2-9) took the pitching loss, but was impressive with six innings of pitching and allowing just four (4) hits and recording eight strikeouts.

The two teams would go on to complete the doubleheader later in the day.
