Coxton Earns Rams’ Only Point; Morgan State Downs WSSU 6-1 Chris Zona 03/24/10 Brian Coxton earns the Rams’ lone win at the first singles position WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Brian Coxton earned a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory at first singles on Wednesday afternoon as he defeated Kevon Charles of Morgan State University as the Rams fell in defeat to the Bears 6-1 in men’s tennis action from the WSSU Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C. Coxton dropped the first set 2-6 before rallying to a post a 6-4 win in the second of three sets before closing out the come-from-behind victory with a 6-2 win in the third set en route to the Rams’ only point of the match. Morgan State closed out singles play with wins in the final five singles matches and added the doubles point as they dropped the Rams to 1-15 on the season. The Rams return to action on Wednesday, March 31 from Asheville, N.C. as they travel to face the Bulldogs of UNC-Asheville.
