Hampton, VA…The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s Women’s
Bowling Championship will begin tomorrow, March 20 at the Durham AMF
Bowling Lanes; beginning with Team Matches One through Six starting at
12:55pm.Prior to the start of the tournament, teams will gather for this year’s bowling awards program.
The young ladies having earned All-Conference honors will be recognized, along with this year’s Player of the Year- Akira Turner of Fayetteville State University. Turner, a junior mathematics major from Detroit, MI, leads the conference with a high average of 198.77 with 6,957 total pins in 35 games. Akira earned her highest scored game of 266 at the CIAA Western Divisional Match on March 5th. The Lady Broncos finished the regular season with a 55-2 CIAA record.
