MEAC ANNOUNCES TENNIS WEEKLY HONORS Sahar Abdur-Rashid 03/17/10 Norfolk State’s Culver Earns Weekly Awards VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – March 17, 2010 –Norfolk State’s Arsenio Culver was chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tennis Athlete of the Week, for matches played March 1-7, the conference announced on Wednesday. Culver (Jr., Philadelphia, Pa.) improved to 7-2 on the year with a 3-1 singles mark during four matches. The junior won a three set victory against Bethune-Cookman’s Marc Vania Misanovic. He followed that performance with a two set victory over South Carolina State’s Radek Pivonka (6-2, 6-3) and also won the doubles point with teammate Ben Marks to aid Norfolk State to a non-conference victory against Winston-Salem State.
