SOUTHERN VIRGINIA TAKES TWO FROM VIRGINIA STATE Jim S. Junot 03/10/10 Virginia State University's Geneva Washington and Takeia Jones did not allow an earned run in seven innings of work, but three Lady Trojan errors provided Southern Virginia University four runs as the Knights swept VSU 4-0 and 9-5 in softball action on March 10 at the VSU Softball Field in Ettrick, Va. In the second game, VSU held a 4-3 lead entering the fifth inning, but the Knights rallied for three runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to sweep the Lady Trojans. VSU's Ashley Bushrod knocked in a pair of runs while Sharron Lipford slammed a triple to deep left field. The losses drop VSU to 2-4 on the season.
