FOTHERGILL ADVANCES TO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 400 MAGGIE HAYON 03/09/10 Trip marks his fifth time to National Championships INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee has announced the participants of the 2010 Indoor Championships and senior Allodin Fothergill (New Hempstead, N.Y.) was one of 568 participants to qualify for the event, held March 12-13. Fothergill currently ranks 11th in the nation in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46:45, which he ran at the Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America Championships last weekend. "Allodin is one of the most outstanding student-athletes in UMES history to compete in track and field," said head coach Ernest Barrett. "He has experience competing nationally and internationally and we are excited to support him once again on this stage." This is Fothergill's fifth trip to the NCAA Track and Field Championships. Last spring, he was named All-American Outdoor Track and Field. The championships are hosted this year by the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville and will be held at the Randal Tyson Track Center March. ESPN360.com will stream portions of the championships live beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern time, Friday March 12 and 7:10 p.m. Eastern time, Saturday, March 13. The NCAA official web site, NCAA.com, will stream supplemental coverage as available when ESPN360.com is not live.
