Golf All Conference Awards Announced Harry "Trae" Stinson III 04/20/09 Albany, GA. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2009 All Conference Golf today, headlining the team is Galen Aldrich of Benedict College who was named MVP of the Regular Season. Morehouse’s Bryan McElderry was named Freshman of the Year. Ironically, McElderry and Aldrich are atop of the leader board for the SIAC Championship.  Galen, a junior from Miami, FL, leads a dominating Benedict team that has already seen early success in the conference tournament as they are currently ranked 2nd. Galen and R. Calvin Mason, were named to the list. Both of them were also named to the All SIAC Preseason team. Morehouse’s Phillip Allen, SIAC Tournament MVP from a year ago, leads a veteran Maroon Tiger team poised to showcase their supremacy this year was named to the All Conference team. Joining him on the team is Olajuwan Ajanuku and newcomer Bryan McElderry. McElderry was the only member not to be on the preseason team replacing Shane Phillips of Benedict. Thaddaeus Hill of Morehouse recorded the best overall GPA of 3.59 to be named to the All Academic team, followed by Jared Perkins (K-State), and Devereaux Burnett (Benedict).
