B-CU’s Bryan Harvey Takes
Position with the University of
Miami
Director of Sports Information
steps down after three years of
service

Bryan Harvey, Director of Sports
Information at Bethune-Cookman
University, has officially
announced his resignation from
the Wildcats family to join the
University of Miami Athletic
Media Relations Office. The
resignation will take effect on
Friday, Aug. 1.
Harvey
has served the last three years
(2005-08) as the Director of
Sports Information covering all
17 sports at B-CU. He also
assisted with coordinating
tailgating at home football
games, vending on and off
campus, as well as licensing for
university paraphernalia. In
addition, he was responsible for
assisting marketing with ideas
and sponsorship within the
Department of Athletics.
While at B-CU, Harvey helped in
promoting the Wildcats baseball
program at three consecutive
NCAA Regional tournaments in
Oxford (Miss.), Tallahassee
(Fla.) and Coral Gables (Fla.).
The Wildcats earned trips with
the automatic bid by winning the
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
(MEAC) regular season and
tournament titles.
Harvey
is currently a member of both
the College Sports Information
Directors of America (CoSIDA)
and Black College Sports
Information Directors of America
(BCSIDA). He served the 2007-08
year as secretary on the board
of sports information directors
within the Mid-Eastern Athletic
Conference (MEAC).
While at the University of
Miami, Harvey will be
responsible for promoting the
Hurricanes volleyball, swimming
& diving, women’s rowing and
women’s tennis programs. He
will report directly to the
Director of Athletic Media
Relations in his day-to-day
duties. He will also be
responsible for assisting at
home football contests for the
nationally-renowned Hurricanes,
as well as being the secondary
contact for men’s basketball.
The search for a new Director of
Sports Information, as well as
an Assistant Sports Information
Director, will start
