ITTA BENA, MS – While the Mississippi Valley State University Department of Athletics bid farewell to four senior volleyball players in a mid-game “Senior Night Ceremony”, freshman outside hitter Ashley Robinson had a ceremonious coming out party of her own by leading MVSU to a 3-1 match over the Lady Tigers of Jackson State.

Robinson recorded a career-high 27 kills and had 13 digs to pace the Devilettes, as MVSU closed out their home slate by rolling over in-state and Southwestern Athletic Conference Eastern Division rival JSU, 30-28, 29-31, 30-14 and 30-19.

The Devilettes improved to 9-13 overall and 2-4 in the SWAC East, while JSU slips to 3-5 in the SWAC East race and 12-19 on the year.

Meanwhile, seniors Niesha Green, Nichole May, Tamika Robertson and Robin Williams played their final home game as Devilettes.

MVSU will complete the 2003 regular season on Wednesday evening (November 12) at the SWAC East leader Alabama A&M. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
