WINSTON-SALEM, NC – There will be good reason to be confused when the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams take the court against the Longwood Lancers on February 13th as the squad will take part in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) 2008 “Think Pink” Initiative, a nation-wide effort by the WBCA to increase breast cancer awareness. The game will feature a number of activities, promotions, and informational materials, highlighted by the Lady Rams taking the court in pink uniforms that were provided by Russell Athletics. University senior Deanna Birdsong hit a walk-off homerun on a 1-2 count
to lead the #1 Lady Rams to a 6-4 victory over the #2 Fort Valley State
University Lady Wildcats in the championship game of the 2010 SIAC
softball championship tournament Saturday afternoon. It was the the
fifth homerun for the second baseman, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI in
the victory at South Commons Softball Park in Columbus, Ga. |
