Devilettes Seize Shutout Victory over Lady Hornets Monique Scott October 15, 2005 Itta Bena, MS---The Mississippi Valley State University Devilettes soccer team notched a 2-0 win over the Lady Hornets of Alabama State University. The Devilettes were led by Angela Hunter and Brooke Falke as they both scored a goal to secure the win for the Devilettes. Falke opened the scoring for the Devilettes as a corner kick from Midfielder Sonia Curvelo found her in perfect position 3:51 seconds into the game. Late in the second half Angela Hunter added another goal (60:35) to seal the victory when midfielder Pella Hand found her with a cross from the right wing. The Lady Hornets goalie, Candise Jacobs recorded 18 saves against the Devilettes offense. Devilettes goalie, Maria Del Guercio recorded 2 saves as she faced only 3 shots. The Devilettes (7-5, 5-1 SWAC E) will be back in action in a conference match-up when they host the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A & M University on Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 PM at Mississippi Delta Community College Soccer Field.  -MVSU- Roderick W.
