Sykes 12/1/07 Tuskegee University (11-0) fought off a late surge by the Virginia Union Panthers (9-3) to win Pioneer Bowl X held at Charles Johnson Stadium on the campus of Benedict College in Columbia, S.C.   Virginia Union scored 27 points in the fourth quarter to battle back from being down 50-24. Lamar Little broke the single-game passing touchdown record (6) and the single season touchdown record (28) Linebacker Brandon Smith was named Defensive MVP after tallying 9 total tackles (8 solo, 1 assisted), 2 TFL of 12 yards and two sacks for a loss of 12 yards.
