Digital Video
Digital Video is constantly changing with new players and video formats emerging constantly. In order to accommodate as many viewer connections speeds as possible we provide video in three formats, AVI, MPEG, and REAL PRODUCTS
AVI. is a video format created by Microsoft . The AVI. compression code used on this site is the latest from Microsoft and requires the latest edition of Media Player to view the clips. An Avi. formatted file must be downloaded entirely before it will play. Media Player will play AVI files entirely on the initial attempt and will replay without the file without reloading.
MPEG is a video format which can be played with Media
Player. The MPEG video
format normally requires a file to download entirely before it will play.
MPEG files maybe viewed with Media Player. If Media
Player is
used to play a video clip with a mpeg extension the last few seconds of
the file may not play on the initial attempt to view the file. To play a
MPEG video file entirely with Media Player you must after
initial viewing attempt you must close the player and re-click the link to the mpeg file. On the second attempt the file will not have to download
and usually play the entirely.
Real Products are streaming media which means the entire file does not have to download entirely before a portion of the file begin to play. Depending on your connection speed and web traffic load Real Products may play entirely after an initial buffering period. Real products must reload from the server on each viewing.
