DURHAM, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University Department of Athletics has announced the establishment of a $25,000 endowed scholarship fund for the men’s baseball and women’s softball programs.

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Apr. 10, 2008) Bethune-Cookman University head baseball coach Mervyl Melendez has been named as this week's Black Coaches & Administrators (BCA) Coach of the Week. Mervyl Melendez, head coach of the Bethune-Cookman baseball team, is this week's BCA's Coach of the Week. The reminders start with nudging people’s memories on why he will be remembered as one of the best hitters to ever wear an North Carolina A&T baseball uniform and they end with recollections of him hitting .402 in 2005 as a sophomore.
