Bethune-Cookman
University baseball will not only be
enjoying a live contest on ESPNU on
Sunday afternoon, but a documentary
special on ESPN ... including the
profile of this year's B-CU baseball
team which will air live at 9:30 am,
11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Easter
Sunday.
For the
first time since last year's NCAA
Regional in Oxford, Miss., the B-CU
baseball team will be live on
television Easter Sunday afternoon
in Greensboro, N.C. against North
Carolina A&T State University. The
game is set to be aired live on
ESPNU (available on most satellite
providers), and is the first
nationally televised game since the
2003 MEAC Championship against
Florida A&M in Lake Buena Vista,
Fla.
B-CU
will not only be on television due
to a baseball contest, the 'Cats
will be part of a special
documentary on ESPN's "Outside the
Lines" hosted by George Smith, a
veteran ESPN reporter/journalist. He
and other members of the ESPN family
spent several days following the
Wildcats and fellow Daytona Beach
school Mainland High School ... home
of NBA star Vince Carter.
The
documentary is a part of Jackie
Robinson's struggle to break the
racial barriers of baseball, and the
racial barriers beaing broken ...
AGAIN, by B-CU in the form of Latin
American players playing at a
historically black
college/university with a lack of
African-American's playing the game
of baseball nowadays.
The
feature will air live on ESPN's at
9:30 am on Eastern sunday, as well
as during the Sportscenter episode
at 11 a.m., followed by an encore
production at 11 p.m. during
Baseball Tonight.
