BETHUNE-COOKMAN NOTES

Bethune-Cookman comes into this weekend’s

series with Norfolk State after having a much needed

week off, but not by choice. Heavy

rain and storms in Daytona Beach cancelled

Tuesday’s contest with Florida Atlantic, and

the Wildcats seem to have a renewed vigor in

their eyes right now.

B-CU stumbled for the first time in almost two

years last weekend with a loss in conference

play to North Carolina A&T on ESPNU, 14-11.

That game ended the ‘Cats 20-game conference

winning streak, but it didn’t come easy as BCU rallied

from13-3 to cut it to 13-11 before the

final verdict.

Bethune-Cookman still has their winning streak

of seven consecutive series’ collected under

their belt, but their “invincibility” has been

solved ... and now comes the question. How

will the Wildcats bounce back following last

weekend’s loss? The players seem a bit relieved

to have the pressure off their backs and get

down to playing B-CU baseball.

The rotation this weekend should be set, but

there could be a change at any moment with

Joseph Gautier returning to the lineup following

a sickness last weekend. Hiram Burgos is ready

to go, but so is Felix Machado without his

weekday start on Tuesday. A fresh start could

be just what B-CU ordered this weekend on the

road ...AGAIN
