Stillman falls to Piedmont in double header

Demorest, GA--- The Stillman College baseball team dropped two games to Piedmont College in a twin bill this past weekend. The Stillman pitchers had solid performances, giving up two earned runs each, but received little run support.

        Piedmont beat the Tigers 8-1 and 6-2. Before the double header Stillman had just won three games in a row and a one game below .500 mark (9-10 record).

        With these loses Stillman falls to 9-12, while Piedmont improves to a 17-11 record. Joe Durski led Piedmont with two hits and two runs scored. Stephen McClain added two hits and a run.

        Jason Strong led Stillman with four hits, a stolen base and an RBI and Marcus Palmer chipped in two hits and an RBI.

        David Bultema won the opener for Piedmont and Tyvun Green (2-2) got the loss. Wes Logsdon secured the nightcap and              Scott Smith(5-3) lost for the Tigers.

        Stillman will return to action Friday, April 12 to host LaGrange College at the Stillman Baseball/Softball Complex. The first game of the double header is scheduled to start at noon.
