Stillman College Baseball Results Date: Monday, March 18, 2002 "Peterson, Wesley Stillman takes two from Rust College Tuscaloosa--- The Stillman College baseball team picked up two wins at the expense of Rust College double header action Monday evening. Stillman defeated Rust 10-3 and 7-2, improving to a 5-9 record. Jason Strong collected six hits, four runs and two RBI for Stillman. James Patrick added five hits, two runs and three RBI. James Hymon led Rust with two hits and a run scored. In the first game Rust took an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning. But, Stillman quickly got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first. For the remainder of the game Stillman defense held and limited Maryville to one run. Stillman pitcher Luke Jordan earned his second win of the season, recording his third complete game of the season. Jordan gave up five hits and struck out five. Cranford Milsap got the loss. In the nightcap Stillman took control early, scoring five runs in the first inning. Stillman pitcher Scott Smith completed the sweep, securing his third win. Smith struck out four batters, while allowing on one hit and three walks for his fifth complete game of the season. In addition to the good pitching Stillman played solid defense in the field, committing three errors. Stillman will return to action Tuesday, March 19 as the Tigers travel to Talladega, AL to face Talladega College. ### |
