Mavericks downed Grambling State 22-3 at Allan Saxe Stadium

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas-Arlington's bats heated up for 16 hits Tuesday as the Mavericks downed Grambling State 22-3 at Allan Saxe Stadium.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 11-15 on the year while Texas-Arlington is 11-14.
Designated hitter Jacobi Frank picked up his fifth home run of the season as one of Grambling's nine hits on the day, and the Tigers only committed two errors in the contest.
But a UTA hitting onslaught resulting in two home runs and five doubles along with 10 walks from GSU pitchers allowed the Mavericks to escape early.

Sophomore catcher Jonathan Jones led GSU batters with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with one RBI while senior third baseman Greg Route went 2-for-4.
Grambling State pitcher Kennedy McFarland picked up the loss to fall to 0-2 on the season and was the first of six pitchers the Tigers used.
Designated hitter Darrell Preston led UTA with a 4-for-5 plate performance with one homer and seven RBIs while catcher Brandon Watson went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.
