Alabama State Sets Senior Day for Sunday

The Alabama State University Baseball Team will hold its annual "Senior Day" on Sunday, April 28, against the Alabama A&M University Bulldogs at Patterson Field. Start time is slated for 1 p.m.

The Hornets are currently tied for second place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Eastern Division with a record of 14-14 and an overall record of 20-24.

Bartowski Cowan, Anthony Macon, Lamaric Owens and Christopher Reynolds will be honored for their four years of hard work and dedication.

Cowan is a 5-foot-10 senior shortstop from Thomasville, Ala., who is currently ranked No. 1 in the NCAA for stolen bases with 46. He is currently batting .339 and leads the team in RBI’s with 37.

Macon is a 5-foot-11 senior pitcher from Fort Wayne, Ind., who has garnered a record of 0-1 with one save and has an ERA of 8.25. He has pitched 12.0 inning and has struck out 11 batters this season.

Owens is a senior pitcher / outfield from Hillsboro, Ala. As a pitcher Owens has garnered a record of 4-3 with an ERA of 5.40. Owens is currently batting .246 and has batted in eight runs and has scored 11 runs on the season.

Reynolds is a 5-foot-7 senior outfielder from Flint. Mich., has played in 26 of the Hornets 44 games. He is currently batting .154 with six run batted in and has scored six runs.
