Mississippi Valley State to Hold Take-a-Kid-to-the-Game-Day

Itta Bena, Miss. --- Mississippi Valley State will hold its annual Take-a-Kid-to-the-Game-Day this Saturday November 22nd when the football team faces the Bulldogs of Alabama A&M in their season finale.
 Children 12 and under will be admitted at no charge with a ticketed adult.

Former HU Student-Athletes Spearhead Tiny Laster Endowed Athletic Scholarship Initiative‏ - Maurice D. Williams
HAMPTON, Va. -- Hampton University former student-athletes are pleased to announce an effort toward the Tiny Laster Endowed Athletic Scholarship. Spearheaded by former HU basketball and softball student-athlete Tonia Glymph Walker and basketball and volleyball student-athlete Jacqueline McWilliams Carpenter, the scholarship is being created in an effort to continue Laster’s legacy and ability to enrich the lives of female athletes. Contributions to the endowment must reach $25,000 prior to the initial scholarship award.
Charlotte Hotels offer discounts to CIAA Fans
Charlotte Area Hotels Agree to Reduce Room Rates for 2009 Tournament

HAMPTON, Va () - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA) announced that twenty-four Charlotte area hotels have agreed to reduce their room rates by 15 percent and will waive any minimum-night stay requirements during the 2009 CIAA Tournament Week.
FOBBS, BIBBS ENTER GRAMBLING HALL OF FAME

 North Carolina A&T head women’s basketball coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs and football head coach Lee Fobbs were inducted into the GSU Alumni Hall of Fame today. The reception, banquet and induction ceremony will be October 17 at 5:30 p.m., in the university assembly center. Bibbs and Fobbs were among five inductees who went into the GSU Hall under the category of athletics.
SIAC MAKES HISTORY WITH 1ST FEMALE FOOTBALL REFEREE
Brunson, from Lithonia, Georgia, will serve as Line Judge in the Stillman vs. Tuskegee TV game in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, September 20, with kick-off at 5:00 PM CST.
Sebrina Brunson is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, Florida.  She began officiating football on the Junior Varsity and Youth level in 1996 with her ex-husband as away of spending quality time together.  After a while she began perfecting her "craft" of officiating football as a female.
