New people on campus  New people on campus is how North Carolina Central Assoc. Athletic Director Ingrid Wicker-McCree described the field, North Carolina State, South Carolina State, Campbell and Elon, at the August 24th & 25th Lady Eagle Volleyball Tournament, their inaugural Volleyball tournament after petitioning to transition to NCAA Division I Athletics. Wicker-McCree with the departure of former A.D. William "Bill"  Hayes now serves as interim Athletic Director at NCCC and was the former Volleyball coach at NCCU.

Interim Commission Duel Sharp, formerly with the Big 10 Conference, brought on board by departed commission Robert Vowels to develop structure in the conference commented on his background and response to an inquiry on some of the factor which may have been consider in the decision to keep the conference office in Birmingham.
