Morgan to be honored by National Association of
Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators Monique A.J. Morgan, Assistant to the Commissioner and Senior Woman Administrator for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association is the recipient of the 200 National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators Nell Jackson Award. The NACWAA Nell Jackson Award is given to a NACWAA/Hers Institute alumna who has demonstrated leadership in the advancement of diversity and gender equity in athletics. The award will be given during the annual NACWAA Fall Forum Administrator of the Year Banquet, Monday Oct. 14, 2002, Saint Louis, Missouri. Entering her 3rd year at the CIAA office, Morgan supervises Public and Media Relations and is a member of the management team that oversees 16 championships. In 2002, the CIAA had a successful inaugural year of Women’s Tennis and Women’s Bowling Championships. Morgan began her Athletic Administrator Career as Sports Information Director at Saint Paul’s College in 1990. While at Saint Paul’s College she held the post of Interim Athletic Director from 1996-1998. Advancing to the Division I level, she performed compliance duties as Assistant Athletic Director/SWA for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Morgan, a native of Waverly, Virginia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts from Hampton University and her Masters of Science Education in Sports Management from Old Dominion University. Currently, she holds appointments on the NCAA Division II Championships Committee and Division II Football Issues Tast Force.
